Sashimi

We have always loved watching the Breeder "Born to Be" thrive throughout the world, and when the opportunity came to get a Corgi from them we jumped on it! Sashimi is a stunning Corgi with a beautiful, flashy show coat and thick bone structure that does not take away from his elegance. He is very outgoing and has a snuggly personality that we just love! He fit into our Corgi pack from the moment that he arrived!

 

 

Sashimi's father came to the USA in early 2024 and completed his AKC Championship in just under a month - an amazing feat! His mother is one of the most stunning Corgis we've seen, and has some championships of her own under her belt in Europe.

Sashimi himself is a small to medium sized male, weighing around 26 lbs / 12 Kgs. He is beautifully balanced - not too long, not too short, with that foxy Corgi face that we all love! He was a slow grower, which is a wonderful trait as it is healthier for their joints to not have too much weight on them while growing.​

HEALTH

This guy is genetically clear all around! He is clear for the major genetic diseases that Pembrokes are known for - DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), vWD (von Willebrand's) and EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse). This means that He does not carry a copy of the mutation for any of these ailments, and even if bred with a dog who is afflicted by them, he would not be able to produce it in his puppies!​​ His hips were rated as "Fair" (no evidence of hip dysplasia) with his elbows being "Normal" (no evidence of elbow dysplasia). His eyes were tested by a canine ophthalmologist and rated as "Normal" and his Heart was cleared by a canine cardiologist as "Normal" as well.

This guy does not carry the tricolor gene, so all of his puppies (even if bred with a tricolor) will be red or sable and white. He also does not carry the fluffy gene, so will not produce a longhaired Corgi.
